I decided to create a gift bag for a wine bottle.
I used what I had - really wished I had the Bloom With Grace, I love that paper.! Though the "Mix In" is so versatile, I think it worked great.  I just cut the paper to fit around the bottle creating a cylinder.  I  also cut a circle about a good quarter inch larger than the circumference so I could cut small tabs (1/4 inch or smaller) around the circle to glue inside the bottom of the cylinder.  The top of the card is Kraft paper and embossed it with the new Wood Panel Embossing Folder. found in the core products catalog pg.   I also used Oh, Hay There (18 stamps), the cute little Mini Envelope TC a combination of the new Operation Smile stamp set Every Bit of Wonderful (19 stamps) and $7 goes to help provide surgeries to repair cleft lips and palates for children around the world.
The card pattern is found on pg. 6 of "Make if From your Heart" Vol 4" pattern # 1 in the how-to book.

Since my crafting focus has been mostly paper crafting, home decor, and cards this stamp set was a big challenge.  I really wanted to try out my new die-cut - for the waterfall card. However, at first, I didn't think it was going to be possible with these scrapbooking stamps. Though with some masking of the word "scrapbooking",  I think this card works great to celebrate my grandson's 9th birthday.

Paper used:  Wood Grain Paper Pack
#9 die-cut Block Numbers
with Tri-Blend markers: Light Green (Medium)
Earth Brown (Dark).
Stamps: Every Bit of Wonderful: "You make my heart happy."
I found the Sentiments "Happy Birthday" and "It's you Special Day" on the "You Own Kind of Wonderful" stamp set pictured on the CTMH website for the Seasons and Nature Stamps, though apparently are no longer available.
Now "Hop" on over to Miss Carrie's Creations to see her inspiring work!  Be sure to visit all the consultants at their blogs to get some great crafting ideas!  Please leave a comment, we love your encouragement.  Remember, the September SOTM is only available until September 30!  You can get this set for only $5 with a qualifying order. Contact your CTMH Consultant (or click here) for more information.

I used the Happiest Place paper and stickers,

silver shimmer trim and silver glitter gems.

When I'm at a loss to create, I go to the CTMH "How-to Pattern Books".  I love making cards and there is always a need for a last-minute card so I went to the Make it From Your Heart Vol. 4,  a book of 24 patterns for cards. The hardest part is deciding which pattern to use!  I wanted to display a cluster of the available flowers from this stamp set and decided to use pattern # 2 found on pages 8 - 9.  I felt the center rectangle was too small, so I increase the evergreen paper by 3/4" length and width and the gold lining was increased by 5/8".
I used the timber paper and zip-strip, the flowers and leaves are gold embossed and then colored with the watercolor pencils.  I also added some gold thread and ribbon.  Behind the evergreen paper from the mix-in paper-pack, I added gold foil paper. The sentiment is stamped in ruby with a ruby red CS border.

CTMH Technique Hop - "The Pretty of Paper-Piecing"

Welcome to the CTMH Technique Blog Hop!

This month there are 10 CTMH consultants using
CTMH products in their artwork to create a variety
of projects using paper-piecing
This blog hop is a complete circle so you can start wherever
you want and continue through to see all the
"pretty paper-piecing" artwork.
If you are coming from Haley Dyer's blog you are on the right track!  If you get lost, you can find
the list on the bottom of Melissa's blog.

Here we go!

About Paper Piecing

Paper piecing is a simple technique that scrapbookers use to create unique page embellishments. Quilters use it too however that's another topic. Paper crafters do use paper piecing that is similar to appliqué in quilting, paper piecing involves using a pattern to cut out parts of a picture from different pieces of paper. When the papers are reassembled and glued back together, you have an original accent for your layout.
Paper piecing is well suited for adding patterned paper on a person for a shirt, dress, etc.  Currently, CTMH has a couple stamp sets that can be used for this technique including the  July SOTM, "For My Beautiful Friend". I even added pleats to the skirt to give it more "flair".
The card design used is from "Make it From Your Heart" Vol. 4 page 46 Pattern 21.  I used the Mix In papers and zip strip, including the top section using the "stars and dots" paper.  I tried to splatter some Sapphire shimmer and didn't see it "added"
any appeal - so that was a "do over" = DONE!!

I cannot wait to see what others have done.

Now hop on over to Maz Wood's blog to see what kind of fabulous "Pretty Paper-Piecing" she's created.  Be sure to drop a comment, we enjoy the encouragement. I hope you enjoyed this hop.  If you see items you would like to purchase, contact your CTMH consultant or you can Shop HERE

There are so many incredible new items to select from, it's really hard to decide.
I want to use them ALL!!

I especially love the new Mix-in Paper Packet.
Amazing colors and patterns.
I'm also loving several of the stamp sets with thin cuts and for my card decided to use
Winged Wishes  to make my card.
I cut a stencil to sponge ink the bird and butterfly using espresso ink and smoothie.
The birdhouse, branches, flowers, and leaves were colored with the watercolor pencils - a touch of water was added to the flowers and leaves to smooth out the pencil.
I used the design for this card from the
CTMH Make It from Your Heart Vol.4 pg 6.
