Purposeful Plastic - CTMH Technique Blog Hop

Welcome to the CTMH Technique Blog Hop
The theme for the August CTMH Technique Blog Hop is "Purposeful Plastic".  This blog will demonstrate artwork using CTMH products such as Flip Flaps and Pocket Plus Pages.  I'm excited to see the creative use of plastic on this hop.

If you are coming from Haley Dyer's blog, you are on the right track.  In case you get lost, you can get a complete list of participants at the bottom of Melissa Robinson's blog.  This month we have 11 Close to My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using the "Purposeful Plastic" theme. To enjoy this hop is quite simple to do - just click on the link at the bottom of the post on each blog to move to the next one. Here we go!
One reason I participate in these hops is all the great art I find from my fellow CTMH consultants!!  It's sharing ideas and techniques that I find so very therapeutic in a hectic, stressful life that I fully acknowledge I'm the responsible party because I say "yes" and "want to do it all!"  This summer, I've been a bit over-scheduled - still working at school FT+;  I spent three awesome days working with the WA state OSPI (Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction) setting cut-scores for the alternate testing for students with an IEP (Individual Education Plan), and even took on a summer project working with 11 Head Start students who receive special education services.  In less than 2 weeks, we start faculty meetings and school starts after Labor Day.  I'm crafting with kids 2 days next week and finishing the Head Start Project.  I rely on a lot of "self-talk" to survive: "BREATH!!!"

For my project, I first thought - I'll use an overlay - it's plastic!  Long story short... I don't know where they are!! (groan), and don't have time to search.  So....... who says I cannot create my own overlay? and use it on a SHAKER CARD!!  The flip flap plastic is really sturdy and worked great!  Here's my Purposeful Plastic Project.  I hope you like it as much as I had fun creating it.

I used documented paper and compliments for this really quick card.
Of course you need to use "StazOn" ink to stamp on plastic - my black was so old it had dried up - but I did have brown. - doesn't show so very well.  - I'm thinking white with the eggplant behind it would be great!  The "confetti is a combination of bashful glitter hearts and "Silica Gel"  found in packing items - states "DO NOT EAT" THROW AWAY!  doesn't say, "do not use in shaker cards".

Now hop on over to Michelle Johns' blog to see what kind of fabulous art she's created.  Be sure to drop a comment, we enjoy the encouragement.  I hope you enjoy the hop.
