For this hop we will be featuring the letter "G". This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment. Whatever the crafter has chosen as their "G" element will be featured in their post. If you came from Marie Goetz - Marie's Paper Crafting and Such then you're on the, right track!
For my "G" project,
I chose the Gap card
with Gold embossing,
Gold Glitter paper
and Gold Glitter Gems.
The Gap card is cut with a see through gap. The gap can be connected with any shape or figure of your choice. I used an Easter egg and acetate to hold the pieces together, the acetate was cut from a flip flap. I've seen Gap cards without the acetate, also. While creating this card, it was fun to play with the embossed Easter egg. I was thinking I could create a cloisonne looking egg with our Shin Han markers, it just wasn't working. I'm at a crop retreat for Friday night and Sat. and so got lots of help, :-) suggestions, and comments, "yes, that works, or no, how about.....?!" What great friends to inspire me. A special, "Thanks a bunch" to Debi G. who helped solve mechanical problems - such as, if you only use one egg you need acetate to hold the other side.Great advice, such as "I like the egg with white and just the gold embossing, no color" Yes, I agree, I like it too. :-)
She always inspires, affirms, and encourages me. Debi, THANK YOU!
G's in this gate -fold card: made with glitz and glam using generous amounts of liquid glass and gold glitter, and gems. I was going for a graduation gift card for a girl geek but the
goal to make an Easter card prevailed.
I'm glad if this post gives you a good grin.
I just make a gate fold card using the new "Jackson" paper that comes out April 1. I started with a traditional gate fold and then added tabs. This card could be a Father's Day card.
