I recall about 8 years ago, there were instructions for a "True Fit Folio" mini album.  I couldn't find mine - too many years have passed along with a major move.  I really wanted to use what I have to re-create a mini album.  I placed my order Sunday, Aug. 12; it usually arrives by Friday the same week and this time it isn't arriving until next week Monday.  Bummer!  However, I do have the cardstock, a folio, the School Kids stamp set, thin cuts, and sparkles. So, I searched Pinterest and found a couple different samples for the mini-album and was overwhelmed with the options. It appears that the original instructions are credited to Kelly English-Triggs.  I found the following examples.

Here's my take on the True Fit Filio Mini Album - great for school size photos.

I will be continuing to add details, color the stamped images, add flip-flaps and inserts, etc.  It's a work in progress.
Now "Hop" on over to Kimberly Bower's blog to see her work!  Be sure to visit all the consultants on their blogs to get some great crafting ideas! Please leave a comment, we love your encouragement.  Remember, this special is only available through September 30 while supplies last.  To get any of the products you seecontact your CTMH Consultant (or click here.)

Purposeful Plastic - CTMH Technique Blog Hop

Welcome to the CTMH Technique Blog Hop
The theme for the August CTMH Technique Blog Hop is "Purposeful Plastic".  This blog will demonstrate artwork using CTMH products such as Flip Flaps and Pocket Plus Pages.  I'm excited to see the creative use of plastic on this hop.

If you are coming from Haley Dyer's blog, you are on the right track.  In case you get lost, you can get a complete list of participants at the bottom of Melissa Robinson's blog.  This month we have 11 Close to My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using the "Purposeful Plastic" theme. To enjoy this hop is quite simple to do - just click on the link at the bottom of the post on each blog to move to the next one. Here we go!
One reason I participate in these hops is all the great art I find from my fellow CTMH consultants!!  It's sharing ideas and techniques that I find so very therapeutic in a hectic, stressful life that I fully acknowledge I'm the responsible party because I say "yes" and "want to do it all!"  This summer, I've been a bit over-scheduled - still working at school FT+;  I spent three awesome days working with the WA state OSPI (Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction) setting cut-scores for the alternate testing for students with an IEP (Individual Education Plan), and even took on a summer project working with 11 Head Start students who receive special education services.  In less than 2 weeks, we start faculty meetings and school starts after Labor Day.  I'm crafting with kids 2 days next week and finishing the Head Start Project.  I rely on a lot of "self-talk" to survive: "BREATH!!!"

For my project, I first thought - I'll use an overlay - it's plastic!  Long story short... I don't know where they are!! (groan), and don't have time to search.  So....... who says I cannot create my own overlay? and use it on a SHAKER CARD!!  The flip flap plastic is really sturdy and worked great!  Here's my Purposeful Plastic Project.  I hope you like it as much as I had fun creating it.

I used documented paper and compliments for this really quick card.
Of course you need to use "StazOn" ink to stamp on plastic - my black was so old it had dried up - but I did have brown. - doesn't show so very well.  - I'm thinking white with the eggplant behind it would be great!  The "confetti is a combination of bashful glitter hearts and "Silica Gel"  found in packing items - states "DO NOT EAT" THROW AWAY!  doesn't say, "do not use in shaker cards".

Now hop on over to Michelle Johns' blog to see what kind of fabulous art she's created.  Be sure to drop a comment, we enjoy the encouragement.  I hope you enjoy the hop.

I used the "Documented" paper pack.  I love the Eggplant color and included some Eggplant Card Stock, Glitter paper, Gold glitter GEMS, Eggplant ribbon, and a piece of the documented zip strip.  I black embossed the typewriter to make it look like metal and added the message from the SOTM. The card was made using pattern # 17 from the How-To-Pattern Book, "Make It From the Heart Vol. 4" which provides 24 patterns to create beautiful one-of-a-kind cards for any occasion.  I'm loving this stamp set and see LOTS!! of possibilities. Cannot wait to see the inspiration found on this hop.
