Everything ABC's Blog Hop - Letter P

Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop!
For this hop we will be featuring the letter "P".
This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment.
Whatever the crafter has chosen as their "P" element
will be featured in their post.
If you came from Danielle Wagner's blog,
then you're on the right track! The blog is a complete circle, if you started here you can work your way around.  If you get lost along the way, you can find a complete list of participants at the bottom of Catherine's blog.

I cannot wait to see all the "P" inspired expressions of creativity.
My letter "P" inspiration is from the letter "P" on the Artiste Cricut Cartridge pg. 50 cut at 2" for a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 card.  I often go to our CTMH Cricut Cartridges when I need something REALLY FAST or when I need multiple cuts! I also used the Florence Paper Packet, and the coordinating Peacock, Poppy, Pomeogranate, and Saffron inks and watercolor (smooshing and splattering).  Painting techniques that I have been have a lot of fun exploring.  I created the "gap" card using the clear acrylic black Polka-dot overlay cut into a strip with a strip of the black and gold ribbon which is only available through July 31.

Inside - water color smooshing and splattering.

For this hop we will be featuring the letter O.
This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment.
Whatever the crafter has chosen as their O element
will be featured in their post.
If you came from Wendy Kessler, then you're on the right track!  If you get lost, Catherine has a list of all the participants for letter O
I cannot wait to see all the O inspired expressions of creativity.

For my "O" I used the O-key on the
I used the Magical Paper Pack for the page, overlays, titles, paper clip icon, and the layers behind the photo mats.  I also used the Magical sequins and Compliments for the arrow and chevrons.
When I cut the title, Always and forever, it didn't show very well so I cut the shadow in Sapphire, just by stretching it a little larger.

These pages are really so fast and easy.  A fun way to create a mini album.

Picture My Life Fun!

For the July CTMH Technique Blog Hop, we will feature the creative ways that we can use the "Picture My Life" Scrapbooking Programs.   So, I'm excited to see the variety of applications and interpretations that others in their genius moments of inspirations will use these cards.   If you are coming from  Wendy Kessler's blog , you are on the right track.  In case you get lost, you can also get a complete list of participants on Melissa Robinson's blog right HERE.  This month we have approximately 10 Close to My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using one or more technique to use the PML cards along with a variety of other great CTMH products.  To enjoy this hop is quite simple to do - just click on the link at the bottom of the post on each blog to move to the next one.  Here we go!

For this first card, I took the gold card from PML Beautiful You Scrapbooking Progam.  The inside is blank for a hand written message.  I first created a heavy watercolor "wash" and applied crumpled saran wrap for the fun, unpredictable effect, added some blue and purple sequins with sparkles in the center.  The sequins were the silver sequins that I painted with ShinHan markers.  The sequins do not color as well as the sparkles.  I am not a patient person, so this technique was a challenge for me since I needed to patiently wait for the paint dry a bit before removing the saran wrap, I took a baby wipe to remove some residual paint covering the gold.  I backed the water colored card with eggplant card stock and put it on a white daisy card - used a corner rounder on all the layers to match the PLM card.  In the current Seasonal Expressions 2 CTMH catalog there are two sets of PML cards specifically designed for water coloring; there's Gold and Clear.  These look like they would be a lot of fun and are only available until July 31.

This second card was created with a water color wash on water color paper and covered with the black, "enjoy this" overlay.  After I applied a generous layer of watercolor, I sprinkled the very wet water color with sea salt and let it dry. Each time, the effect is unique, but will create random clusters of water color puddles.  I used paper from the Magical paper pack to back the message and added sequins also from the Magical assortment.  To adhere the clear overlay and hide the adhesive, I used small glue dots hidden behind the sequins.  That created a secure attachment.
I created another "saran wrap" water color to use, but didn't have time to create the card.

Now, hop on over to see what kind of fabulous art Catherine Nowak has created.  Be sure to drop a comment, we enjoy the encouragement.  Enjoy the Hop!

Color my Heart - Color Dare # 200

Color My Heart is a Close to My Heart challenge blog that gives weekly color dare challenges.
There is still time to play along in this week's challenge.
Color Dare #200 using Sapphire, Ruby and Colonial White
Close To My Heart colors:

Here's my SOTM card with Ruby, Sapphire, and Colonial White

I first embossed the Sapphire CS with the Confetti Stars folder  and then sanded the stars to show the white core of our paper. I tried to use as many stamps from the CTMH July SOTM as possible. and cut the shapes according to the stamp sheet instructions using Cricut Artistry, pg 47,14,43, & 2 for the tags and then used  and Artiste pg.47 Accent 1 for the notebook page..  For contrast, I used a rectangle of the Sapphire Fundamentals and of the Ruby, then used the chevron punch (retired), and backed it with red glitter paper.  I also added the white thick twine died with ruby ink, some random bitty sparkles, 2 staples, and red gems.  Birthday Boy was cut from the red glitter paper using the Artbooking Cricut Cartridge  font and fusing the letters.

Diamond Award Winner for Challenge #200 will be able to select a future color combination...you can challenge our design team...so make it fun.

After cutting the BUG in glacier, I backed it with silver glitter paper, and the black shadow.  Then added silver sequins and sparkles.  The background paper looks like a sunset and is from the
May National Scrapbooking "Happy Times" paper pack.
The sentiment is from Spring Critters (retired). and surrounded with Coral Reef Sequins, currently on clearance, while supply lasts.

Another N card is my SOTM Card

July SOTM Blog Hop - From the Notebook

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!  We will be featuring July's SOTM, which is "From the Notebook", a set of 24 stamps.  If you have come here from  Haley Dyer ~ The Inky Scrapper, you are on the right path! The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around.  If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on Melinda’s Blog: HERE
This month we have  approximately 17 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this month's SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs. This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next on! Here we go!
I tried to use as many stamps from the set as possible. and cut the shapes with artistry according to the stamp sheet instructions.  I also took  the challenge #200 for Color My Heart  and used Ruby, Sapphire, and Colonial White.  I ran the Sapphire CS through the Cuttle Bug with the confetti stars embossing folder and then sanded the the stars to show the white core of our paper.  I used the chevron punch (retired) on the ruby fundamentals paper, backed it with red glitter paper, and cut the same size rectangle in sapphire, and Cricut Artistry, pg 47,14,43, & 2 for the tags and then used  and Artiste pg.47 Accent 1 for the notebook page. I also added thick twine, bitty sparkles, staples, and red enamel gems.

This stamp set had me stumped.  I see a LOT of potential for layouts, but I make cards.  Then I recalled a layered card I had see and problem solved! So sorry, I have no idea who inspired this card.  I actually think it was a cluster on a layout that I saw and decided it would work as a card.  Presto! have a birthday card for my 14 year old grandson.

Now "Hop" on over to Alyson Mayo of Create with Alyson to see her work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas! Remember, the July SOTM is only available until July 31!  Contact your CTMH Consultant (or click here) to see how you can get this stamp set at a discount!
