I created a card for my daughter, a llama lover.  She used to work a llama farm when she was first married.  Then they had their own small llama farm.  Yes, llamas do spit!

If a one-L lama is a priest, and a 2-L llama is a beast

…what’s a 3-L lllama?
A really big fire!

 Diamond Fold Easel Card

I was able to add some details after the blog went live.  Really wishing I was I had more time to craft...  I worked 4-10's so actually took today as a flex day so I can "play".

Standing up FRONT view
I used our Tri-blend markers to color the llama, except for the Sangria for the word ROCK! and in the blanket on the llama. Sangria ink picked up from the lid of the ink pad was water-colored using the CTMH small round waterbrush. The leaves were stamped and sponged with Fern ink and the flowers satmped with Intense Black and water-colored with the Sangria ink.
I wished I had embossed the Fern triangle Card Stock paper for some texture.

(My "do-over" would be to emboss the fern CS triangles for some texture.)

This card, folded flat, fits into a 5 X 7 envelope.

Diamond fold card ~ instructions
To make this card you will need…
1 piece of 12″ x 5″ Cardstock or our double sided patterned paper.
Score along the 12″ side at 3″, 4 1/4",7 3/4" & 9".
On the 3 X 5 end rectangles make the outer side 5" end at the 2.5" midpoint.
Mark the top and bottom of each rectangle at the 1.5" midpoint.
Cut off the corner triangles.
Create a diagonal score line from the top 1.5" midpoint to the bottom 4.25" scoreline.
Create an large X making a second diagonal score line from the bottom 1.5" midpoint to the top 4.25" scoreline.
Create a second large X score mark on the other side of the 12 X 5 panel. I find it easiest to flip it around and repeat the previous instructions;
resulting in a second diagonal score line from the bottom 7.75" scoreline to the top midpoint mark 1.25' from the edge of the paper, and from the top 7.75" scoreline to the bottom  midpoint mark 1.25' from the edge of the paper
This is what it looks like.

Decorating the panels takes the follow cuts.
For the 3X5 end pieces - cut 2 3/4" X 4 3/4"
Mark the midpoints on all 4 sides and cut into a diamond shapes
Cut the back mid panel  2 3/4" X 4 3/4"  or like mine, 2 1/2" X 4 1/2"
For the triangle shapes created by the folds - cut two rectangle at 1 1/4" X 4 1/2" cut them in 1/2. creating 4 rectangles - 1 1/4 X 2 1/4.
cutting the triangles is tricky if both sides are not the same.
Be sure to cut 2 from top right to bottom left
and the other 2 from the top left to bottom right for the triangles to match.
- no math tip on marking a midpoint !

Happy Crafting!

February Technique Hop - "Color Your World"

Welcome to the CTMH Technique Blog Hop!
This month there are 14 CTMH consultants using CTMH products in their artwork to create a variety crafts using the theme "Color Your World".   This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the fabulous "Color Your World" artwork.  If you are coming from Cat Nowak's Blog you are on the right track!  If you get lost, you can find the list on the bottom of Melissa's blog.
Here we go!
I love our inks that we can squeeze our ink pad and then use the ink from the lid as water color.  I planned to watercolor a background, but somehow my watercolors didn't get packed and I'm at a crop so learning to be creative and improvise. So I sponged the background with Sangria and Sapphire.  I used the "Shared Happiness" stamp and thin cut"  Found on the Stamptacular Sale!!
Swished some Sapphire ink with a brush, used our embossing pen to write the sentiment and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  I colored the bouquet with the TriBlend markers.

I love the TriBlend Markers!
Three colors in one marker; light, mid, and dark. Tutorials I've seen suggest starting light, going into the shadows with the dark add the mid and then go back and blend all over with light.
My first attempt using the TriBlend™ Markers was to color the bouquet for the February Stamp of the Month Blog Hop.  It's perfect for lots of coloring. These markers are much easier to use than I expected.
I cannot wait to see what others have done.
Now hop on over to Tamara's blog to see what kind of fabulous "Color Your World" art she's created.  Be sure to drop a comment, we enjoy the encouragement. I hope you enjoyed this hop.  If you see items you would like to purchase, contact your CTMH consultant or you can Shop HERE

They are AMAZING!  So much easier than I anticipated.
I also copied a post I saw with some of the bouquet fussy cut and layered the flowers to make them look more 3-D.
