Everything ABC Blog Hop ~ Letter O

Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop!

For this hop we will be featuring the letter "O". This may be the name
of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment. Whatever the crafter has
chosen as their "O" element will be featured in their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Linda's blog ~ Scrappy Therapy .

If you came from "Lauren Moore"  then you're on the right track!

Of course, "O" is for Owl.  I was overjoyed when I realized I own the CTMH August Stamp of the Month which has two OWLS!  I obediently followed the order of the official rules of the ABC blog hop so I could join this opportunity and you could open my post and observe the OWL card I created for this occasion.

The card base is craft cardstock Z1375. Then I added B&T from the Yuletide Carol paper pack X7187B. I layered the owl and message with smoothie cardstock X5763 and colonial white 1388.  I  inked the edges of the smoothie cardstock and using a scissors I distressed the colonial white cardstock.  The stamping was done with black ink Z2105. Then using the masking technique, I sponged smoothie ink Z2196 and desert sand Z2118 to color the owl.  The feather marks on the front of the owl were hand drawn with a brown watercolor pencil 3505.   I used foam tape under the wings. and popped up the "What a Hoot" message.  I added sparkles in the eyes of the owl and the O's of the word "Hoot" from the black and grey assortment Z1754,  Under the message, I used a strip of smoothie washi tape Z1923 and black striped twill Z1988.  The last detail are two black enamel stars Bulk362 .
