Here we go!

Crafting de-stresses me, it's my therapy and with schools closing and increases in the local positive Covid-19 tests, it's a challenge to not be stressed.
One technique I like to use is distressing the paper to make it look older. There are multiple ways to distress.
1. inking edges, 2. roughing edges, 3. ink splatters, 4. sanding or filing, 5. rolling and tearing paper.

Our newest paper "Yesterday and Today" already has a distressed/aged look to it, so I'm using more inking and roughening the edges with a scissors to accentuate the effect.

I used the "You Make Me Happy" stamp set(25 stamps).
They can be colored or simply stamped.
I dyed the White Ribbon with Espresso ink.
I cannot wait to see what others have done.
Now hop on over to Cat Nowak's blog  to see what kind of fabulous "Distressed" art she's created.  Be sure to drop a comment, we enjoy the encouragement. I hope you enjoyed this hop.  If you see items you would like to purchase, contact your CTMH consultant or you can Shop HERE

Here we go!
On my last blog, I played around with the double diamond fold card.  I had so much fun once I figured out how to score and fold it, I decided to repeat that card with the March Stamp of the Month.

Front

Back (open and closed) with room for a personal message.

Using our double sided paper makes this card easy to make.
The base was the toffee/espresso colored sheet from
Yesterday and Today

Besides using the Family Legacy stamp of the month, the flower and leaves I added are from the Yesterday and Today-cardmaking stamp + Thin Cuts (set of 14 stamps)

This card, folded flat, fits into a 5 X 7 envelope.

Diamond fold card ~ instructions
To make this card you will need…
1 piece of 12″ x 5″ Cardstock or our double sided patterned paper.
Score along the 12″ side at 3″, 4 1/4",7 3/4" & 9".
On the 3 X 5 end rectangles make the outer side 5" end at the 2.5" midpoint.
Mark the top and bottom of each rectangle at the 1.5" midpoint.
Cut off the corner triangles.
Create a diagonal score line from the top 1.5" midpoint to the bottom 4.25" scoreline.
Create an large X making a second diagonal score line from the bottom 1.5" midpoint to the top 4.25" scoreline.
Create a second large X score mark on the other side of the 12 X 5 panel. I find it easiest to flip it around and repeat the previous instructions;
resulting in a second diagonal score line from the bottom 7.75" scoreline to the top midpoint mark 1.25' from the edge of the paper, and from the top 7.75" scoreline to the bottom  midpoint mark 1.25' from the edge of the paper
This is what it looks like.

Decorating the panels takes the follow cuts.
For the 3X5 end pieces - cut 2 3/4" X 4 3/4"
Mark the midpoints on all 4 sides and cut into a diamond shapes
Cut the back mid panel  2 3/4" X 4 3/4"
For the triangle shapes created by the folds - cut two rectangle at 1 1/4" X 4" cut them in 1/2. creating 4 rectangles - 1 1/4 X 2.
cutting the triangles is tricky if both sides are not the same.
Be sure to cut 2 from top right to bottom left
and the other 2 from the top left to bottom right for the triangles to match.
If both sides are the same, the cutting isn't an issue.
- here is a "no math" tip on marking a midpoint !

Happy Crafting!
