Here we go!
For this hop, I'm repeating a second version of a starburst card that's similar to the one I posted yesterday on the CTMH Techniques Hop.  For this starburst card I used a technique by LeeAnn Greff that I found on YouTube.
 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQG1wv8n0vA
This card uses a very quick and easy cutting method to create the triangles without waste. Instead of a tedious method of cutting small rectangles into triangles,  I took a rectangle the perfect size for the card (3 x 4) used two papers from Chelsea, layered them, found the center of the bottom edge and cut the triangles using a paper cutter and making sure the center point was on the cutting track.  Besides the Chelsea Gardens paper I also used the butterfly strip of leaves, and sentiment from the Chelsea Gardens Complements.

I also used Chelsea Gardens to make cards  for two other blogs.  Here are links to those blogs.

CTMH Technique Blog Hop - Blushing Backgrounds

WELCOME!
For the January CTMH Technique Blog Hop, we will feature the use of background stamps.  I'm excited to see the variety of paper crafting ideas that we will find on this hop.  If you are coming from Melissa Robinson you are on the right track.  In case you get lost, you can also get a complete list of participants at the bottom of Melissa's blog.  This month we have 13 Close to My Heart consultants sharing their creations using the current CTMH background stamps along with a variety of other great CTMH products.  To enjoy this hop is quite simple to do - just click on the link at the bottom of the post on each blog to move to the next one.
Here we go!
In The Background Essentials (D1750) was used to make a patterned paper for a starburst card. In the past, I found cutting instruction that were tedious, such as cutting rectangles on a diagonal to create triangles, these are then glued into a starburst pattern on a large rectangle overlapping the edges of your card and then needs to be trimmed which wastes some of your paper.  No more need to trim, plus, save time cutting the triangle!!  I found two clever, fast, no-waste cut versions on YouTube.
#1. I didn't have time to complete was by (LeeAnn Greff: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQG1wv8n0vA)

I used a template version of the starburst card on YouTube created by Wendy Cranford (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZgDndQFxiA).This tutorial shows how to make a template that's reusable and the exposed cardstock is sponged.  I took it one step farther.  After creating an ombre sponge effect using Juniper ink, I then added the background stamping to the remaining white triangles
The butterfly is from Chelsea Gardens and flowers were also stamped with the background stamp.

Now hop on over to Michelle Johns to see what kind of fabulous art she's created. Be sure to drop a comment, we enjoy the encouragement.  I hope you enjoy the hop!
