CTMH April SOTM Bloghop -Typed Note

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop!

We will be featuring April's SOTM, which is "Typed Note", a set of 19 stamps.
If you have come here from Jacquelin Green's Blog, you are on the right path!
The blog hop is a great big circle, so you can start here and work your way all around.
If you get lost along the way, you’ll find the complete list of participating consultants on
Melinda’s Blog:  http://ifyoublingit.blogspot.com/p/stamp-of-month-blog-hop-list.html.

This month we have approximately 60 Close To My Heart Consultants sharing their creations using this month's SOTM and other great CTMH products on their blogs. This is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one! Here we go!

I love this stamp set.  I remember those days before I had my  own personal computer, it was so time consuming to edit a document!  I forget how awesome computers are until I think about how easy it is now to edit documents on a computer: delete, cut and paste, short cut keys, spell check, save as, the list goes on.   And now I can use the computer to create Cricut projects.

Here's my April SOTM "Just a quick Note" card.  It could easily be any of the other typed messages found in this stamp set.

The Yuletide Carol Paper pack (X7187B) is one of my favorite paper packs.  I inked the edges for a more antiqued look. The typewriter and message are popped up with 3-D foam tape (Z1151) and I embossed the typewriter with the clear embossing powder (Z2088) to make the typewriter look like metal.  To add some embellishments, I cut a short strip of Black Striped Twill (Z1988), layered it with the Yuletide paper and topped it with 3 Silver Sequins (Z2013) with a clear Sparkle (Z1752 in the center of each sequin.  I also cut a strip of the black Shimmer Trim (Z1809) in half, lengthwise, and layered it along the edge of  the twill ribbon over the Yuletide paper.  Around the edge of the card, I drew a simple doodle line with dots using our Journaling Pen (Z1979)

Now "Hop" on over to Jeanie Burch's Blog to see her work! Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their Blogs to get some great crafting ideas and other fun ideas! Remember, the April SOTM is only available until April 30!  Contact your CTMH Consultant (or click here) to see how you can get this stamp set at a discount!

The Everything ABC's Blog Hop - Letter G

For this hop we will be featuring the letter "G". This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment. Whatever the crafter has chosen as their "G" element will be featured in their post.  If you came from  Marie Goetz - Marie's Paper Crafting and Such then you're on the, right track!

For my "G" project,
I chose the Gap card
with Gold embossing,
Gold Glitter paper
and Gold Glitter Gems.

The Gap card is cut with a see through gap.  The gap can be connected with any shape or figure of your choice.  I used an Easter egg and acetate to hold the pieces together, the acetate was cut from a flip flap.  I've seen Gap cards without the acetate, also.  While creating this card, it was fun to play with the embossed Easter egg.  I was thinking I could create a cloisonne looking egg with our Shin Han markers, it just wasn't working.  I'm at a crop retreat for Friday night and Sat. and so got lots of help, :-) suggestions, and comments, "yes, that works, or no, how about.....?!"  What great friends to inspire me.  A special, "Thanks a bunch" to Debi G. who helped solve mechanical problems - such as, if you only use one egg you need acetate to hold the other side.Great advice, such as "I like the egg with white and just the gold embossing, no color"  Yes, I agree, I like it too.  :-)
She always inspires, affirms, and encourages me.  Debi, THANK YOU!

G's in this gate -fold card:  made with glitz and glam using generous amounts of liquid glass and gold glitter, and gems. I was going for a graduation gift card for a girl geek but the
goal to make an Easter card prevailed.
I'm glad if this post gives you a good grin.

I just make a gate fold card using the new "Jackson" paper that comes out April 1.  I started with a traditional gate fold and then added tabs.  This card could be a Father's Day card.
D1616 Have a Happy Day stamp set
Z3039 Glacier Extra thick twine
Z3041 Ocean side sequins
Z1751 Sparkles Clear
Shin Han marker to color the sparkles blue.

CTMH Technique Blog Hop - Blank Canvas

Welcome to our Technique Blog Hop!

Welcome to March's CTMH technique blog hop. This month we are highlighting the “Blank Canvas” Technique found on page 32 of the Close to My Heart's Annual Inspirations Idea Book focusing on crafting on our 6x6 canvas!  For the entire hop list go to Melissa Robinson.  This blog hop is a great big circle so you can start wherever you want and continue through to see all the  fabulous artwork incorporating this technique. If you are. coming from Di Crawford's Blog, you're are on the right track!

A couple years ago, I created a 4 panel, entirely CTMH, home decor canvas project. But for this challenge, I was thinking about doing a "She Art" project that I first saw posted on FB by my upline, Julie Reynolds.  She had created the project at the fall CTMH leadership training.  I also found more inspiration posted on the CTMH blog, Meaningful Mixed Media. The originator of the "She Art" is Christy Tomlinson.

First, I'm posting my original 4 panel project using the retired CTMH For Always paper.  The letters were cut with the Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge. Z1686

Here's my She Art creation, a reflection of who I am, not yet finished, a work of art, continually changing.  This is a really fun, creative project.  It's more than just a project, the process itself is as meaningful as the finished art.

I finally was able to attach the picture.  Not sure why it insisted on turning upside down when it looked right side up.  Enjoying the process and will be making some changes and additions soon.
I'm eager to see the other creative inspiration that will evolve from this technique hop.
Thanks for stopping by!  Please continue onto Melissa David's Blog where you will find some additional artwork .highlighting this technique!  Be sure to leave a comment and let me know what you thought of my variation and happy hopping!

The Everything ABC's Blog Hop - Letter F

Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop!

For this hop we will be featuring the letter "F". This may be the name of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment. Whatever the crafter has chosen as their "F" element will be featured in their post.
If you came from Marie Goetz - Marie's Paper Crafting and Such then you're on the right track!

For my letter "F" inspired card, I created a Fun, Fancy-Fold Card Featuring a Frog embellished with a Filigree butterfly.  I used the diamond CTMH embossing folder Z3020.  The base of the card was Flaxen paper X5771 cut at 12 X 4 and scored at 2,4,8, & 10. The butterfly was cut from the Art Philosophy (Z1686) cricut cart. pg 55 The solid butterfly was cut  from the gold glitter paper Z1830 and the filigree from black CS (1386).  The frog was cut using the circle and oval shapes pgs 21 and 22. The large circle was 1 3/4 inches, the smaller was 1 1/2.  The  pear green circle for the eyes was cut at 1 in. and the white from 1/2 inch.  The black "pupil" was punched with a cropadile and covered with liquid glass. . The body circle and oval legs were embossed with the dot embossing folder.(Z1924) The frog was inked on the edges and over the dot "warts" with Olive ink Z2137.  The diamond embossed paper was inked in Pixie Z2644.  The patterned paper is Brushed X7190B and the "hello" greeting is from M1048
