The Everything ABC Blog Hop -Letter - Q

Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop!

For this hop we will be featuring the letter "Q" This may be the name
of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment. Whatever the crafter has
chosen as their "Q" element will be featured in their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Linda's blog ~ Scrappy Therapy

If you came from "Lauren Moore"  then you're on the right track!

When I first thought about making a card with some connection to the letter "Q", I actually felt a bit QUEASY and had serious QUALMS about connecting a card with the letter "Q".  Then I remembered the quilt cards I had done a year ago, but didn't have any left.  They are Quick, Quaint and Quilted.  I even checked if I could make a Queen Anne's lace quilt (researched the lace/quilt and found some possibilities).
Oh, then, I recalled the Quatrefoil Embossing folder and Quick Cards and this is what I created.

A QUICK Card,
QUARTREFOIL embossed and
cut from the letter "Q" key on the Artiste Cricut Cartridge

I made  the card even quicker by using the Cricut Artist cartridge Letter "Q" (pg 41) to make the card (Goldrush CS) and belly-band (Pathfinding B&T). The card was cut at 4 1/4 inches and embossed with the Quartrefoil folder. I added the inside shape (colonial white CS) cut from the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge (pg 36-letter ) cut at 1 1/2. Stamped the "Thank You" in chocolate ink and added sparkles colored with the marigold ShinHan marker. The butterfly on the belly-band was stamped on Goldrush Cardstock, fussy-cut, and layered using foam tape over a masked image of the Quick Cards-Butterfly stamped in chocolate on a Colonial white CS shape cut from the Artbooking Cricut cartridge (pg 48 icon/shift - letter Q) cut at 2 3/4. The edges are all sponged with chocolate ink.

Here's a list of all items used.

Crafting Marathon

August 2014
It's almost time to go back to school. Next week the staff meetings start so I'm enjoying time in my Crafty Happy Studio.  Evelyn came over from Yakima and we crafted 'till cows come home and then stayed up and crafted some more. Two mornings we had company in the back yard, 3 young bucks with antlers - two tines each.  One buck had 3 tines. "What is that? velvet?

Evelyn got a lot done,   Four napkin fold cards

Five Pine Cones

Three are super large and two smaller ones.

and a Box Card

I worked on making card kits, organizing paper packs, recording measurements for the following cards and finding the best You-tube videos for each card.

Perpetual Card. - Never Ending or Endless Card   - I need to video tape the one I made.

The Everything ABC's Blog Hop -Letter - P

Welcome to the Everything ABC's Blog Hop!

For this hop we will be featuring the letter P This may be the name
of a paper, a stamp set or an embellishment. Whatever the crafter has
chosen as their P element will be featured in their post.

If you have just hopped onto my blog, please start at the beginning at Linda's blog ~ Scrappy Therapy

If you came from "Melissa Hegwood"  then you're on the right track!

Front Cover

Inside - pocket on the left, waterfall photo

I signed up for this blog hop minutes after I watched a tutorial on a Water Fall Mini Album by My Sisters Scrappers.  It's a great tutorial, very easy to follow.  But not ONE "P" to work with.... I knew I had to make the album, and trusted there would be at least one "P" in the project .. ah, ha!! There it was, Project.  So I decided to make the album and just still need to find the family photos of the most precious people in my life - ah ha, "P"-photos and Precious People #2 & #3. I was on a roll.
I did use some retired paper and stamp sets.
Laughing Lola Paper packet - retired
Circle of Love D1348 - retired
Peacock and feather
Enjoy the Little Thinks B1451 - retired
small flower
Placed in the inside pockets
Lagoon Washi Tape - retired
Bitty Sparkles Z1263
Thistle Ink
Black Ink
Lagoon Ink
Lagoon Sequins from the Lollydoodle Card Workshop on the Go - retired.

I actually think the total number of P's for this project is now 10.
  • People, the reason I scrap and paper craft
  • Patterned Paper (B&T), the hardest part of a project is deciding which paper to use.
  • Peacock!  remember the peacock paper and stamps we had way back when??
  • Projects, I love crafting with paper and have so many projects to do on my bucket list, I'll need at least 40 years - so I'll be over 100 years old before I've completed all my projects.
  • Picture My Life - Laughing Lola tags for journaling
  • Pockets - inside the cover
  • Purple - Shimmer trim and Glitter Gems,Laughing Lola and our new Thistle Ink
  • Paisley - Laughing Lola
  • Photos - to remember the fun we've had.
  • Phun! OK......... you know what I mean!

Annual Inspirations Blog Hop - Day 7

It is AUGUST!  Do you know what that means?  That means that the brand new Close to My Heart Annual Inspirations has been released!  There are so many new products this year.  I have decided to join a fantabulous blog hop which showcases new product!  You can browse the work of many consultants from this hop.  CTMH Independent Consultants will be uploading from August 1 through August 7, so check back often for new ideas.

Day 7
We're over 100 participants!  Whoo Hooo!!!

I've created a quick 5X7 pinwheel birthday card with "Chalk It Up"  squares matted with lagoon cardstock and backed with black cardstock .  The birthday sentiment is from Banner Wishes.   The center of the pinwheel is a black epoxy bubble.

Hope you've enjoyed the variety of art included in this new product blog hop.

Annual Inspirations Blog Hop - Day 6

I hope you have been enjoying the new product blog hop.

After Convention, I attended a team meeting at Julie Reynold's home.  We took apart the My Crush books and cut up the papers to make cards.  There were some amazing, creative and cute cards, though, so far I only have three.

I also added some embellishments and black and white daisy card stock on the first sample. The books are easy to open and remove the pages without damaging them as Tresa Black showed us during Extravaganza at Convention.  One suggested use of the empty cover was to create a card holder by adding pockets to hold the cards.  It could then be given as a gift package of assorted cards.

This photo shows the card to be more green than lagoon, it is more blue in real life.
I'll try to photo it in daylight tomorrow.
